Ninja Trial
Overview
Ninja Trial is a game that was created for GAM 305, a course I took at Southern New Hampshire University. The course matches students with other students in the course who have similar interests in development. Each student must pick a different role out of the following: Project Manager, Programmer, UI/UX Programmer, Artist, and Level Designer.
The goal for the course was to create a basic beta, but my team and I were very motivated to create as much of a complete product as possible within the 8 weeks of the course. While many group projects can be difficult to navigate, especially in undergraduate, my team and I really lucked out with each other! We worked together really well, held each other accountable, and most importantly respected everyone’s work and opinions. I even work regularly with 2 of those groupmates currently.
Genre: 2D platformer
Platforms: PC
Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Approximate Date of Development: April 12th, 2024
My Role
I was the UI/UX Programmer for this project. Main tasks included:
- Health System
- Shuriken Count
- Main Menu functionality
- Pause Menu functionality
- Game Over screen
- Game Win screen
Ninja Trial was the first game I ever completed, and is a significant measurement of my growth as a game developer, as it shows where I started!
